We have been researching using the $10 per month Vonage softphone. The set up lack of information may cause a person terrible frustration, not because it does not work well, because Vonage instructions are missing and limited to the Vonage download of their private label softphone software produced for Vonage by CounterPath. So below please find
some setting information that will help you set this up to work
properly.
Contrary to what Vonage says most usb wireless phones only work with Skype not Vonage based softphones. Also you need to obtain your separate and unique softphone password and authorization from your Vonage account screen. Go to the Features tab, then to softphone configuration. To the far right of the screen you will see "Continue" click this button to see the codes you need to enter into the Counterpath x-lite setup screen. We are using the Plantronics 400 and many other headsets will work with softphones like CounterPath, etc. Aga in the problem is we need more vendors making standard usb wireless phones that can work with Vonage.
